Keeley doesn't want to star in a TR Movie

28th June 2010

Keeley Hawes is the current voice of Lara Croft and has been since Tomb Raider Legend in 2006. The actress has also played major roles on TV and starred in several movies and music videos. However in a recent interview with the Metro, Keeley admites that she doesn't want to appear in the third Tomb Raider movie because she doesn't want to replace Angelina Jolie. The interview didn't make clear if Keeley didn't want to do a movie if it was animated:
"No, uh, no I really wouldn't want to step into Angelina's shoes. I don't think I could fill them... no, I wouldn't want to. I think she was brilliant and it's a great shame that she's not coming back."

RUMOUR: LCatGOL Release date

9th June 2010

From a screenshot of Qore's Guardian of Light section, posted by a Tomb Raider fan at the TR forums. It has been revealed that the Guardian of Light might be released on July 27 2010.

So far there hasn't been a confirmation by Square Enix or Crystal Dynamics if this is true, but we will post the details when we know more.

Possibly the answer might be revealed at this year's E3, since we know that people at Crystal Dynamics will be there and release brand new information.

There is also new screenshots posted by the same member from the Qore site. They also may contain spoilers from the game, but there is a warning before that point.

New Spider Screenshot

5th June

A new screen shot for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (from the XBOX360 version) was released today. The photo shows another creature that the players will face in the game. Info has been released through the Tomb Raider Forums that the creature is a Queen Spider. There is a number of ways the player or players can kill it, since you can unlock several weapons in the game. Apparently if the player kills the creature, it's meant to explode which is promised to be quite dramatic.
Personally I love that it looks like it's waving to the camera, wave back everyone!

Rumour: Kim Kardashian as Lara Croft?

4th June 2010

The rumours about who will play Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider movie still hasn't yet been resolved. After Paramount Pictures decided to write an origin story featuring a younger Lara, Angelina Jolie was told she wouldn't get the role despite playing the video game heroine for the previous two movie. It was then suggested that Transformer's star Megan Fox would be wearing Lara's boots, but turned down the role because she didn't want to be like an Angelina doppelgänger. On 20th February Kristen Stewart, who starred recently in the Twilight movies was offered the role but again turned it down.

Now the latest person to be rumoured to be offered the role is Kim Kardashian, a reality TV star who has recently appeared in several extra roles in shows in America for example C.S.I. According to ShowbizSpy she is in talks to replace Angelina Jolie.

Last Decemeber she said;
I have so much going on but acting is definitely exciting to me. I'm hoping to do more TV and I would really love to make movies.

A source on the website also said:
This will be something very different to Angelina's Lara. Kim is wanted to play a far more comic-strip version of Lara which will be shot in 3-D and aimed at a teen audience.
